Ricky Heeraman

Ricky “Rico” Heeraman was born in Bronx, NY the mecca of graffiti culture. Then later in life he moved to Paterson, NJ.  Both urban city up bringings have influenced a lot of his artwork. Ricky grew up capturing and pursuing the art that surrounded him in his environment, most of which was Graffiti. On his everyday walks to and from school, there would be Writers, “bombing” the streets with their Graffiti aliases. Ricky would observe the colors, the font styles, the can control, etc. this was the beginning of “Rico”. Ricky never had the chance to go to Art school or obtain an Art degree. Through experience acquired over the years along with many trials & errors all his artistic skills have been self-taught. Even today his styles and techniques are developing taking on new forms and shapes. This ever-evolving style has allowed Ricky to complete many murals for restaurants in the NYC and NJ areas. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions across the country, including Miami Art Basel. He has also partnered and collaborated with some of the most prestigious brands in pop culture. Ricky is living proof that you can be what you want to be, by making your happiness a priority. When you do something, you love, you’re never working; you’re living & having fun.
